Theodore “Professor Ted” Randall is an American wildlife and nature photographer based in the Midwest. He was born in Los Angeles, California in 1991 and grew up in Naperville, Illinois. At an early age he garnered the nickname, “Professor Ted,” from family and friends due to his inquisitive and truth seeking nature. Randall is his middle and artist name given to him by his maternal grandmother, Louise, and means “shield wolf.” His father, Alexander, is of Chinese and Vietnamese descent and his maternal grandfather, Hector, was half Apache and spoke conversational Navajo. Randall carries this familial history very closely in his heart and throughout his life has been constantly exploring the themes of family linage, our bond with nature and returning back to a higher state of being in the modern world.

In 2013 Randall graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where he furthered his studies in painting/drawing, printmaking and photography. After graduating SAIC and living in the Chicago metro area for four years he moved back home to Naperville where he rediscovered his love for nature by frequently visiting many of the nearby forest preserves. In 2019 he 'married' his love for art, nature, and spirituality through photography. Through his wildlife and nature photography he captures beautiful, stunning and ethereal moments, all the while reminding us all how deeply rooted and spiritually connected we are to our planet, Mother Earth.
